A Chinese car company that has overtaken Tesla to become the world’s largest electric car company

Elon Musk’s Tesla car company, which introduced the new era of electric vehicles, has now reached the world’s second largest EV maker. In the electric car sales market, China is the largest market in the world, followed by the European and American markets.

Electric car sales in China increased from 0.88 million units in the third quarter of 2021 to 1.7 million units in the third quarter of this year, a sales growth of over 100%. For the third quarter of 2022, among the world’s leading EV brands, Tesla became number two, while China’s BYD Auto came in first with a market share of 19.7%.

BYD Auto sold more than 537,000 EV vehicles in three months, representing a 197% year-on-year increase in sales. BYD Song for the third quarter; BYD Qin and BY Han are BYD Auto’s three best-selling EV models, and 56% of all electric vehicles sold by the company are these models, he said.

American electric car company Tesla’s 2022 third quarter EV sales also increased by 43% year-on-year to a total of 343,000 vehicles. The company also predicted that demand for Tesla electric cars in the European market could increase during the fourth quarter. The smooth production of the Berlin car factory is also likely to increase the export of Tesla Model Y vehicles to a record in Germany.

However, due to transportation difficulties, there is a possibility that vehicle exports will decrease more than expected. Among the world’s top 5 EV vehicle brands, the Chinese car company Wuling, which ranked third, saw an annual growth of 31%, while the fourth-placed German Volkswagen’s electric vehicle sales increased by 28%.
